Others are involved in promotion, collecting sponsorship etc.

Kiss Me Kate

This year’s show was “Kiss me Kate” and was performed in the White Memorial Theatre,Clonmel from Monday 21st –Thursday24th  October 2013.

A large cast of seventy talented teenagers took to the stage, to tell the story of Cole Porter’s Kiss Me, Kate. The Musical involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham (Shane O’ Sullivan), the show’s director, producer, and star, and the leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi (Ellie Mackey).

A secondary romance concerns Lois Lane (Katy Mullins), the actress playing Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill (David Walsh), who runs afoul with some gangsters (Michael Tobin and Kenny Liew).

Choas erupts in the theatre when Lilli receives a bunch of flowers, meant for Lois, from Fred. However, when Lilli tries to leave the theatre Fred uses the gangsters, who have come looking for money, to “convince” Lilli to finish out the show. Meanwhile, onstage in The Shrew, Petruchio (Fred) desperately tries to tame the wild Kate (Lilli) and get her to kiss him!

The High School and Presentation Convent’s production was directed by Jennifer Williams, with musical direction from Siobhan Alley and Olga Gannon.

From that his career blossomed into what was a hugely successful international success. He is one of the past pupils of the High School that we are extremely proud of.
