Students apply for Transition year during their Third Year (Junior Certificate year). The process begins in February when the Transition Year Coordinator visits each of the Third Year classes and informs them of the criteria and method of application. The process followed is detailed in the school’s Transition Year Policy.
The Transition Years visited the Titanic Experience in Cobh on December 5th. All members of the Class had a very successful community work placement week just before Christmas. They also completed a number of fundraising events in December. They will soon go on work placement for a fortnight during which time they will complete two separate placements in career areas of their choice. They organised a hugely successful European Food Day where they planned, prepared, cooked and presented numerous dishes from a variety of European countries. They have recently set up a student bank with the help of AIB. It was formally opened by Mattie McGrath TD and already dozens of students have opened bank accounts with them.
