Campaign against the cutback to the guidance provision in schools

A group of parents have set up a website expressing misgivings about the reallocation of guidance counsellors in our schools.

This group believe that the only way to get the Minister to reverse this decision is through the mobilisation of public opinion and they are requesting parents/guardians/former students to either contact the Minister for Education directly through whatever medium they like, or access

Irish Rowing University Championships and Schools Regatta 2011

Images from the Irish Rowing University Championships and Schools Regatta which were held in Inniscarra, County Cork at the National Rowing Centre last Saturday 9th April 2011

Our JM16 4x+ (Junior Mens 16 coxed quad) came in third in the final, (Sean O'Brien, Jack Noonan, Ryan McKenna, Alex Chadfield with Daniel O'Sullivan coxing).

The JM15 4x+ came in second in their final, (Stewart Channon, Sean O'Brien, Alex Chadfield,Ethan May with Daniel O'Sullivan coxing).

JM Open 1x, single scull, Edmund Morrissey met some tough opposition and didn't qualify for the semi nor the final, but our JM Open 1x Liam McCarthy did qualifyfor the semi and the final but missed out on a placing in the final.  Liam is currently trialling for the Irish National Squad.  He made the squad last year, fingers crossed he'll do it again this year.

The JM Open 2x, double scull, qualified for the final but, again, missed out on a placing.

Well done to all who participated in this year’s Schools regatta.

Principal's Greeting

Seamas Bannon

It is with great pleasure that I am able to welcome you to the C.B.S. High School Clonmel Website. The High School has a long and proud tradition of excellence in both the academic and non-academic aspects of learning. As well as demanding a high level of excellence in taught subjects, the school also strongly encourages students to participate in extra curricular actives.

In recent years the school has seen unprecedented changes with a new sports gym and state of the art teaching facilities to allow us expand the courses on offer to our students. I hope you find this website to be informative and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.

Mr Seamus Bannon.

Election of parent representatives to the Board of Management 2011-2014

Boards of Management represent a true example of local partnership in action with the involvement of parents, teachers and Trustee nominees. The term of office of the current Board of Management is now completed and a new Board will commence their three year term of office (2011-2014) on October 15th

A special debt of gratitude is owed to the current parent representatives on the Board of Management, Pat Looram and Mary Wynne, for their commitment in terms of time and goodwill and for all their hard work on behalf of the whole school community. It is very much appreciated. Neither of them is seeking re-election so 2 new parents nominees must now be elected to the Board. Parents/legal guardians of children currently in the school are entitled to elect two nominees for appointment to the Board.

Nominations are now being sought from any parent/guardian who wishes to be considered for election to the Board (if nominating a parent/guardian the consent of the nominee must be sought before putting their name forward). The election will take place on the night of the Parent’s Council AGM on Wednesday 21st September at 8pm and the closing date for receipt of nominations is 4pm on Friday 16th September.
