The school offers vocational and educational guidance to all students.
VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE
It is the policy of the school to develop a career consciousness among all students. Senior students are encouraged to research a wide range of careers and are: given the opportunity to develop job search and interview skills.
All students are given the opportunity to have a one to one interview with the Guidance Counsellor and are, assisted with all relevant applications.
The Guidance Counsellor is also available to meet parents.
EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE
It is the policy of the school to offer educational guidance to all students.
Students are assisted in the area of subject choice by the provision of detailed information to parents and students on the content and relevance of subjects at Leaving Certificate level in particular. Students are also assisted to develop adequate study skills and examination techniques.
OBJECTIVES
To encourage students to take greater personal responsibility in researching career information, through providing access to a careers library where students can assess information as required, including information available through computer programmes. |
