
Did you know that Croke Park is the 3rd largest stadium in Europe? As one of the top attractions in the country this visit did not disappoint. The students were led along the service tunnel, the same journey All -Ireland players take on Match Day. From there we entered the Player’s Lounge where we admired the Waterford Crystal Chandelier representing the colours of the most recent winners.

Most of us weren’t aware that the average hurler or footballer runs the equivalent of 12K during a game.
Out on the pitch we saw the care taken with grass growth, we heard about the history of the stadium and the Tipperary connections. Finally we got to practise some of our own GAA skills in the Play Area
