Transition Year School Tours: Unforgettable Educational Adventures
The Transition Year school tour is one of the most anticipated highlights of the CBS High School Clonmel calendar, offering students an extraordinary opportunity to travel, build independence, and forge lifelong bonds with their peers. Year after year, our students return with a broader worldview, a deeper appreciation for history and culture, and memories they cherish long after graduation.
Looking Back: The Rhineland, Germany
Last year’s trip to the Rhineland was an action-packed journey that perfectly blended history, sports, and thrilling entertainment:
-
Cultural Exploration in Bonn: Day one kicked off with a guided walking tour highlighting the Old City Hall, Beethoven Monument, and Beethoven Hall. Students also explored the University of Bonn grounds, enjoyed a group lunch in the city, and spent the afternoon shopping along Maximilianstraße.
-
Castles & Cable Cars: The adventure continued with visits to the towering Marksburg Castle, the historic Ehrenbreitstein Fortress State Museum, Koblenz Old Town, and panoramic views aboard the Seilbahn Koblenz Cable Car.
-
River Cruises & Stadium Tours: A relaxing cruise along the Rhine River showcased Germany's scenic riverfronts, while sports enthusiasts enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes stadium tour of the BayArena.
-
Theme Park Thrills: Highlights always include a dedicated fun day, and the trip to Phantasialand delivered non-stop excitement for everyone.
Looking Ahead: Destination Paris!

First Year Soccer Trip
First-year High School students have the exciting opportunity to embark on an unforgettable overnight trip to Manchester, England. The highlight of the journey is attending an action-packed Premier League match at Manchester City, complemented by an exclusive tour of Anfield - where students step into the shoes of a Liverpool player to experience authentic match-day preparations and rituals. To wrap up the adventure, the group visits the famous Trafford Centre for time to shop and dine.
A long-standing school favorite, this annual tour consistently earns ringing endorsements from both students and parents.
