The Transition Year (TY) is a One-Year programme that forms the first year of a three-year senior cycle. It is designed to act as a bridge between the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate programmes. It is a highly structured programme that is designed to develop academic, social and personal skills. Students benefit from the opportunity to sample a wide range of subjects, free from the pressure of state examinations. Students are also afforded opportunities to participate in work experience, educational outings, volunteering and fundraising events, as well as entering a variety of local and national competitions.
