You are very welcome to the website of the High School, Clonmel. Our school is one with a very long and proud tradition spanning well over one hundred years. We are honoured by the achievements of our past pupils and our current students alike. Those achievements have been academic, social, cultural, sporting and professional and testify to the fact that our mission statement has a very real presence within the ethos of our ERST (Christian Brothers) school. That statement guides us in promoting the personal, spiritual, physical, creative and academic development of our students and it acknowledges the support of the wider school community, and in particular all parents/guardians in promoting this vision.
We offer our students hard working teachers within a setting modern class and a huge variety of subjects. We expect students to actively participate both in their classes and to engage fully with their homework in order achieve their full potential. We also provide a diversity of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities in the High School including Hurling, Gaelic Football, Rugby, Basketball, Athletics, Soccer leagues and trips, Debating, Chess, Badminton, library access, guitar lessons, Tennis, Drama and Music, Business mini-company projects, Cultural Tours, excursions etc. We also provide pastoral care through our committed Care Team, the Student Peer Minister and our Class Tutoring System.
I hope our website gives you a flavour of what life is like in the High School and a sense of the active participation that our students display on a daily basis. I trust that you find the information varied and interesting. I invite your comments and wish you all the best.
Karen Steenson (Principal).
